Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data Wordinal collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Wordinal is a word game published by MC Stud.io.

DATA WE COLLECT

When you sign in with a provider (Google, Apple or email), we receive your display name and a unique account identifier (uid). We do not receive your password. If you play as a guest, no account is created and only local preferences are kept on your device.

For signed-in players we also store in the cloud: your profile (display name, avatar emoji and, if you choose to set one, an avatar photo uploaded to Firebase Storage), your game statistics (for cloud sync), your contest scores (if you take part in a contest such as the Puzzle of the Week — your display name, avatar and contest score in the contest rankings are visible to other signed-in players; rankings may be reset or periodically renewed), your multiplayer matches (boards, moves, words and scores), the chat messages you send inside a match (up to 100 characters each, stored with that match), your friends list and friend code if you use the friends feature, and your block list (the players you have blocked — visible only to you).

If you submit a word suggestion ("Suggest this word"), we receive the suggested words together with your account or guest identifier, display name, the game language and the game mode. Suggestions are used only to review and improve the game's word lists; guests can also submit suggestions.

HOW WE USE IT

Authentication — to sign you in and keep you signed in.
Multiplayer matchmaking — to pair you with an opponent for 1v1 games.
Cloud sync — to keep your profile and statistics available across your devices.
Contests — to show the contest rankings.
Match play and chat — to share moves, scores and in-match messages with your opponent. Chat is user-generated content; you can block a player at any time and their messages, invites and friend requests will no longer reach you.
Word suggestions — to review and improve the per-language word lists (this also serves as our content-review channel).
Blocking — your block list is used only on your own device/account to filter a blocked player's messages, invites and requests; nobody else can read it.
Local scores and statistics — to track your results on this device.

THIRD PARTIES

We use Google Firebase to provide these features: Firebase Authentication (sign-in), Cloud Firestore (profile, statistics, contest rankings, matches, chat and friends data) and Firebase Storage (your avatar photo, if you set one). Your use of these features is also subject to Google's privacy terms: policies.google.com/privacy. We do not use advertising networks, and we never sell or rent your personal data.

LOCAL STORAGE ON YOUR DEVICE

The following keys are stored in your browser's localStorage and stay on your device:

wordycrush_user (your account or guest session)
wordycrush_settings (theme, sound, vibration, notifications, language)
wordycrush_ui_lang (interface and word-list language)
wordycrush_stats (per-mode wins, losses and scores)

YOUR RIGHTS

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting cakirmehm@gmail.com. If you play as a guest, you can remove all stored data yourself by clearing this app's data / localStorage in your browser or device settings.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Wordinal is suitable for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

DATA RETENTION

Account data is kept while your account is active. Match data and its chat messages are removed when the match is deleted (finished matches are also pruned automatically over time). On an account-deletion request, associated data is removed within 30 days. Local data is removed as soon as you clear it on your device.
